About Us

Dear Prospective Mentor,

One of the most critical steps we can take to ensure our students’ continued success is to support them through mentorship. Studies have shown that mentoring not only improves students’ academic performance, but also contributes to their overall well-being and the well-being of the community. Students who have a mentor are most likely to have healthy relationships and lifestyle choices, enhanced self-esteem and confidence, and a better outlook on their future and post-secondary plans.

The goal of Henrico H.E.R.O.E.S. is to promote quality mentoring programs for the youth in Henrico County Public Schools. We are passionate about providing nurturing one-to-one relationships and community support that will allow students to develop into their full potential and make informed, responsible decisions as members of their community.

It is important that effective mentoring relationships be sustained consistently for a period of time. We are looking for individuals who are interested in committing their time to grow with a student over one school year. It is because of individuals’ volunteerism that we are able to offer such opportunity to our students. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please follow the registration instructions below and encourage your colleagues and friends to join you in this effort. To speak with someone regarding any questions that you may have, please email henricoheroes@henrico.k12.va.us.

We are looking forward to having a positive impact on the lives of our youth in Henrico County!
